Bruno Maccallini was born on March 7, 1960 in Avezzano. Graduated from the Silvio D’Amico National Academy of Dramatic Art in 1982, he was working as an actor, producer and director in Italy before gaining a strong popularity in Germany as a protagonist in successful Tv movies. He also became well-known throughout Germany and several other counries with the Nescafe Tv-commercials. With his new commercial “The Visit” he processed more than 22 million GIF searches in 2020.

GROTESK! LAUGHING MAKES FREE by Bruno Maccallini and Antonella Ottai. The success of the book “Laughing makes free – Comedians in Nazi Camps” by Antonella Ottai originated the idea of turning the story of the Jewish comedians of the Weimar Republic and their destiny into a very succesfull play.
