Tribute to Enrico and Antonello Falqui
On Thursday 20 April, the National Central Library of Rome and the Antonello Falqui Association will join together to pay homage to two pre-eminent figures of twentieth-century Italian culture, Enrico and Antonello Falqui, father and son, uniting them in the common traits of their contribution to the environments that saw them as leading protagonists. The event will see the interventions of experts from the world of literature and information.
Among others, contributions from the journalist and television critic Aldo Grasso, the set designer Gaetano Castelli and the author and director Michele Guardì are planned.
The celebratory day will begin at 4 p.m. with a guided tour of the Falqui Room at the Capitoline Library in Viale Castro Pretorio 105. The room contains about 30,000 books from the personal collection of the great literary critic. It will continue at 5 pm in the adjacent Auditorium with comparisons and insights on the theme, to focus in particular on the figure of the great director of the Italian television variety, Antonello Falqui, the absolute, undisputed and pioneering protagonist of Rai.
